YMSM Program Coordinator
Evan Pitts joined NAESM, Inc. in November 2014 as the AmeriCorps Vista/Volunteer Coordinator and currently serves as the Program Coordinator for the YMSM Drop-In Center “The Hangout”. In his current role, Evan oversees the day-to-day programmatic operations of the center and leads the agency strategy to reducing HIV infections among Black YMSM throughout Metropolitan Atlanta.
During his tenure with NAESM, Evan has aided in the development and implementation of several programmatic initiatives, served as the agencies first AmeriCorps VISTA, completed certifications in several CDC behavioral interventions, and served as the board chair/facilitator for the Ryan White Community Advisory Board. Evan asserts himself as a leader and takes pride in having a strong work ethic. He has a true passion for service and a strong commitment to Public Health and the eradication of HIV/AIDS among African-American MSM. He dedicates his time and efforts to ensuring that equal access to social services is an option for every client he serves.
