Abilash Pulicken, MAPC
Mental Health Counselor
Abilash Pulicken joined NAESM, Inc. in December 2016 as the organization’s Mental Health Counselor, and currently serves as the organization’s Client Services Manager. Abilash is the primary mental health practitioner at NAESM, Inc., and serves clients by providing individual counseling, substance abuse counseling, life coaching, and psycho-educational services. He is proficient at utilizing a variety of approaches, including, but not limited to, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and narrative therapy. In addition to providing the agency’s clients with a high standard of mental health care, Abilash is also responsible for overseeing case management services and housing services, and ensuring agency compliance on selected grants.
Prior to joining NAESM, Inc., Abilash served as a Mental Health Counselor for four years on the San Carlos Apache Reservation in San Carlos, Arizona. During this time, he worked extensively with young men on the reservation, addressing their mental health needs via the utilization of evidence based, culturally sensitive mental health approaches. Prior to his time on the reservation, Abilash also spent one year as a Counseling Intern at Deer Valley Counseling in Phoenix Arizona, where he utilized a number of mental health counseling approaches to work with an extensive range of populations ranging from couples to court-mandated sex-offenders.
Abilash earned his Master in Professional Counseling with a specialization in Marriage and Family Counseling degree from Ottawa University. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Arizona State University.
